One day during the building of the parsonage for First Baptist, Lake City, CO, a gentleman from down the street, a summer resident, drove up in the front of the house, David greeted him and engaged in conversation. The neighbor said, "Never in my life have I seen so many people giving of their time to carry on a Christian project! Would it be all right if I gave a donation to this work?" Upon being assured that this would be a wonderful gesture, he wrote a check for $1,000 on the spot. Our church has been blessed by the work of the VCB and looks forward to having a full-time pastor move into this home soon. Dave and Jane Basden, Lake City CO (Deacon at First Baptist, Lake City) I just wanted to let everyone know how much VCB's hard work and friendship have meant to me and to Texas Baptist Encampment. For the past 5 years in a row, a large crew of VCBers has come to the camp for at least 2 weeks to accomplish a construction project in a time of need. In those five years, we've renovated two dorms, 9 motels and one house; we've constructed a 2000 sq. ft. meeting facility, installed a large sprinkler system, built numerous bunk beds, and many other smaller projects. Each year over 9,000 people visit our facility to refresh, relax, and renew their relationship with God, or to begin one. Last year, 250 young persons gave their life to Christ. The work that VCB has done here has certainly contributed to these decisions. We cherish our fellowship with the VCB and look forward to many more years of working side by side with you until Jesus returns and our labors finally come to an end. Barry Nelson, Administrator, Texas Baptist Encampment, Palacios, TX Without God's leadership in your lives, we would not have been able to accomplish the special task of building our new sanctuary for the Lord. You impacted our lives greatly and your spirits are an integral part of this building. Our prayers are always with you. Jim Phillips, Pastor, Dodson Branch Baptist Church, Cookeville, TN VCB means a lot to our church, Cedar Ridge Baptist Church. Without VCB workers we wouldn't have started building on a sanctuary and eight classrooms. We thank God for all our wonderful building experiences and the wonderful times of fellowship with other Christians. "God is good, all the time, all the time, God is good!"
